These stories of all the awesome Asian diaspora winning Gold at the Beijing Olympics keeps coming. Just today, we saw the awesome performance from 23 year old, current world champion of the men’s halfpipe Hirano Ayumu win Gold after a stellar performance which included 2 unprecedented triple corks on his third run!

This is Hirano’s first Olympic Gold and his 3rd Olympics. He won Silver Medals at Pyeongchang in 2018 and at Sochi in 2014 – and yes, he is only 23! Here is what he said about his win (via Olympics website):

“I did what I wanted to do right at the end — I wasn’t able to accept the second run’s score,”

“But I managed to express my anger well at the end.”

Congratulations!
