Chinese Australian Writer Amy Wang Will Be The Writer For ‘Crazy Rich Asians 2’

Deadline Hollywood reports that Chinese Australian writer Amy Wang will be replacing Adele Lim and Peter Chiarelli  as the writer for the next installment of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ – yes #2. This was set up by  Warner Bros and Color Force. Wang will be taking up this role of writer as the sole writer and has big shoes to fill after the success of the first installment which has a star studded cast of Henry Golding, Constance Wu, Gemma Chan, Ken Jeong, Awkwafina and Michelle Yeoh. It also included a number of Asian Aussies including Chris Pang, Remy Hii and Ronny Chieng.

Wang is story editor on Netflix’s Brothers Sun from Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu and has also worked on the same streamer’s Zoe Saldana-starring From Scratch. 

She is currently writing and directing a horror feature for Paramount Players/QC Entertainment and has directed shows including an upcoming episode of Starz’s Blindspotting and Facebook’s The Birch. She won a Cannes Lion award for her short Unnatural in 2018.
