Amazon Prime Video And LADbible Australia Launch The “UNHEARD” Documentary Series

“UNHEARD” is an upcoming 6 part documentary series which highlights issues of racial discrimination in Australia. It is a collaboration project between Amazon Prime Video and LADbible Australia. Here are the topics it focuses on:

  • Indigenous deaths in custody;
  • The targeting of Indigenous youth;
  • Attacks towards Asians during COVID;
  • Islamophobia;
  • The vilification of the African community and the treatment of asylum seekers and refugees.

The “Attacks towards Asians during COVID” features Adri Lozano – Convener for the Asian Australian Alliance, Osmond Chiu – Research Fellow at Per Capita, Jenny Leong MP – NSW State Member for Newtown, and Rosa and Sophie Do who were victims of racism in an attack at Marrickville last year. There are also others featured in this documentary.

This series is an extension of LADbible’s “UNHEARD” campaign which was launched in February 2021. Here is what it is about (via TV Black Box):

Launched in February 2021, the campaign utilises LADbible Group’s global audience of almost a billion and Australian audience of 11.8 million to support their campaign partners; the National Justice Project, Human Rights Commission, National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services, The Refugee Council of Australia, Change.org, African Women Australia, Asian Australian Alliance, Islamophobia Register Australia, Deadly Connections Community and Justice Services and All Together Now.
