Masterchef Legends Adam Liaw And Poh Ling Yeow Collaborate To Bring Malaysian Food To Australia

Being someone who identifies as “Malaysian Chinese” Australian, seeing this collaboration come to light really tickles my fancy. In my most “unbiased” opinion, Malaysian cuisine is one of if not the best Asian cuisines, bringing together Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisines – sometimes all in one.

So, it is extremely exciting to see a collaboration between Masterchef legends and Asian cooking experts Adam Liaw and Poh Ling Yeow on their new show “Adam and Poh’s Malaysia in Australia”. This show will premiere on  7 October at 8.30pm on SBS Food – so mark this down!

Being good friends both Adam and Poh take you on a journey in understanding the connections between Malaysian food and Malaysian food in Australia and this is even more important as both share a Malaysian heritage growing up in Australia. They will travel around Australia finding the freshest produce and learn from some experts in the cuisine.

Adam told Media Week:

“This is the first time Poh and I have been on camera together, so making this series has been a huge amount of fun, but it’s also a valuable opportunity to highlight the connections between Australia and Malaysia, two nations that share such a long history and which are so special to both of us.”

Poh told Media Week:

“We have such great produce here in our own backyard, but what always surprises me is how even the tiniest of places can create delicious experiences. Together, Adam and I are hitting the road to find inspiration for Malaysian cuisine right here in the place we call home.”

Remember, mark October 7, 8:30pm in your diaries to switch on SBS Food or catch it after on SBS On Demand!
