Bernadine Lim Becomes Commissioning Editor For SBS

We recently wrote about the appointment of David Hua as SBS Director of Audio and Language Content, and here is another awesome appointment of an Asian Australian at SBS. Bernadine Lim will be joining SBS as its Commissioning Editor, which basically means she will be tasked in looking for content but also recommend new ideas etc. Of course more goes into it, but this is just the basic idea. What this means is that there is opportunity to have more culturally diverse content – so this is a great thing!

Lim is extremely qualified for the role with over 20 years experience as a film director and producer with awards to show for it. Lim heads over to SBS from Screen Australia. Here is more about her experience from SBS News:

Lim is an award-winning director and producer with more than 20 years’ experience, and joins SBS from Screen Australia where she has been Head of Documentary since 2018. Born in Malaysia, she began her career as a TV journalist in New Zealand and has worked across a range of factual formats, from current affairs, entertainment, arts, science and documentary, in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia. Her appointment sees her return to SBS having previously been the Executive Producer of Dateline, SBS’s long-running international current affairs program.

Lim starts her role on May 3.

Great stuff here for sure!
