JILLIAN NGUYEN is a name to watch out for, and considering she only started to pursue acting full time in 2017, she has done extremely well in a highly competitive industry. Nguyen was made famous when she was cast as “Molly Kane” in “True History of the Kelly Gang”, directed by Justin Kurzel (2018). And according to Deadline Hollywood, Nguyen has been cast in US/Australian feature film “Loveland“. The film will begin production on February 25. Here is more from Deadline Hollywood on this news:
This comes as the U.S./Australian feature film, directed by Mystery Road director Ivan Sen, secured additional funding from Tarik Coskun at Maestro Productions. Rock Salt Releasing will be shopping the film at EFM in Berlin next month ahead of production beginning 25 February.
The film also stars Hugo Weaving (Lord of the Rings) and Ryan Kwanten (True Blood). Set in the neon twilight of a futuristic Chinese influenced mega-city, it follows two lonely souls; Jack, a hardened assassin, and April, a nightclub singer. Together, they search for what it once was to be human, until it confronts them, revealing the true mystery of their existence. It will film in Hong Kong and Brisbane, Australia.
It is the latest project for rising star Nguyen, who recently filmed The True History of the Kelly Gang, alongside Nicholas Hoult, Charlie Hunnam and Russell Crowe.
Nguyen is definitely a name we should all be watching out for and supporting. Another awesome Asian Australian who is doing amazing things and will only grow from strength to strength.
