In more awesome sporting news, Korean Australian pro golfer Minjee Lee has won “The Evian Championship”, which is a major golfing tournament in France. This win comes just before she competes for Australia in golf for the Olympics.

Only 25 years old and a Perth local, Lee, will be looking at chasing the Gold medal in Tokyo – and her chances are extremely great after this win!

This is what she said to Channel 7 News after her Evian Championship win:

“I’ve been waiting for this for so long, it just feels unreal to have won, amazing!”

“Winning a major’s easier said than done! They’re all so good out there,”

“I never really thought about winning while I was playing. I just tried to make as many birdies as I could. I think I only saw the leaderboard once or twice.”

Let’s congratulate her and wish her all the best! Lee is also included in our list of Asian Australians on the Olympic team!
