One of the most successful Asian director/producer in Hollywood and probably the most successful Australian director/producer in Hollywood, Asian Australian JAMES WAN is always busy and always has awesome projects to work on. Known for his horror genre, Wan has diversified into other genres and as you all know has directed/produced “Aquaman” and now “Mortal Kombat”.
The “Mortal Kombat” movie is pretty awesome because he has cast a great number of Asian actors including Hiroyuki Sanada (“Westworld,” pictured above) will play Scorpion and Chin Han (Skyscraper, pictured below) will play Shang Tsung.The cast also includes Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden and Lewis Tan (Wu Assassins) as a leading unknown character.
For now it looks like the release date is March 5 2021 – so keep you eyes peeled peeps! In other Wan news, he is also directing/producing a top secret (for now) horror flick and has cast British Asian actor George Young in the male lead role. What this film will be about is still yet to be known, but one thing is for sure that it will definitely be a ripper!
