It seems that the federal Liberal Party is in desperate damage control mode. Statements have been made all over Australia’s media landscape that the Liberal Party is not racist and not anti-Indian. Opposition leader Susan Ley and other senior Liberals have been around Indian populated areas such as Harris Park, attempting to show they are friendly to the Indian Australian community.
All this comes after a week of internal conflicts following Senator Price’s comments that the Labor Party had allowed in higher levels of Indian migrants to boost their vote. She did later retract this statement but has not made any apology. Due to mounting pressure on the Liberal Party, Senator Price has been dumped from the front bench and the shadow ministry.

In a statement, Senator Price said (via news.com.au) spoke about her removal and possibly some regret over her racist comments:
“I have accepted the leader’s decision. And I reiterated my regret in not being clearer in my comments on the ABC last Wednesday,”
“Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to express to the leader my disappointment that some colleagues disregarded the key point I was making about the damaging impacts of mass migration.
“And that some colleagues instead chose to indulge agenda-driven media commentary on this matter.”

Do you all feel she has and/or will learn her lesson after this?
