Most of us Asian Australians and really Asians all over the West were elated when “Crazy Rich Asians” was released back in 2018. A romantic comedy, starring all Asian diasporic stars, the film represented what cultural diversity in a Hollywood film looks like.
One of the stars of the film, friend of the site as well as GQ Australia’s breakthrough actor winner, Chris Pang let’s everyone in on a little secret: yeps, there will be a sequel to the film. This is what he told GQ Australia back in December:
“Crazy Rich Asians, actually outside of North America, the largest box office was in Australia, so that’s pretty cool. And I was part of that…and there’s three books. So maybe there might be some more films. So yes, excited.”
We are pretty sure that means yes! yes! yes! More to come from this for sure!
